Welcome to Franklin Square Elementary!
I am your principal, Virenda Cunningham-Lester. I’m so excited to be leading this new school through innovation and excellence in education.
Our students are our future. To help prepare them for their next steps, we are implementing Project Lead the Way learning. This practice brings in more hands-on projects, bringing lessons to life. It’s not only more exciting for the students but helps them retain those lessons for many years to come. We also offer STEAM subjects, meaning we are teaching science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in all our grades, helping to prepare our students for future careers.
We pride ourselves on our welcoming, safe classroom community. We have daily routines that encourage positive student-teacher relationships. We work to instill excellent character in our students through the PRIDE program, which teaches the foundations of persistence, respectfulness, initiative, dependability, and efficiency.
We work to grow the whole student, not only academically, but also socially and emotionally.
